Kristen and I are slowly adjusting ourselves into full-time parenting. Maddy has really been relatively easy for a newborn (or at least that's how it feels to me) and neither of us are exhausted just yet so go team us! She's waking up every 3-4 hours to feed and then depending on her mood and energy level, she'll be awake for a few minutes before snoozing off again.
The weather in Chicago has finally transitioned into spring and we've been taking advantage of the nice weather walking her to the awesome parks in the neighborhood. Yesterday, we took the short trek over for Maddy's first trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo. Of course she slept through the whole thing but it was fun to get out and enjoy the weather with her. It's still very odd to be walking around with a stroller but slowly, I'm getting used to it.
Baxter continues to crack us up as he adjusts to the "intruder" in his house. He is very curious and has finally mustered up the courage to get close enough to sniff her but he's still super skittish. He definitely watches over her though while we're all snoozing at night so I'm thinking he's coming around with her. Soon enough, they'll be fighting over her toys and playing like best friends.
