Health aside, Madeline has been a joy to have home. She shows a ton of personality in the smallest of things and seems to find new ways to amaze us. For instance, when she's eating and wide awake, instead of just latching onto the bottle, she'll shake her head side to side (bobbing and weaving) and then chomp right down! It cracks us up every time and she seems very satisfied after her attack has completed. Kristen is already working with her on her tummy time and getting her to scooch her body around the floor. We are a ways from her crawling (or at least I think) but it's fun to see her start to figure things out. She's already figured out how to hold her pacifier and put it in and out. I was shocked to see her do that and might have just been dumb luck in that particular moment but I was stunned she was able to do that.
She's really only doing the big 3 newborn activities of sleep, eat, and poop but when she's awake, she's super curious exploring the condo. Her little bit of awake time has tended to coincide with when the Bulls have been playing and for whatever reason, she seems to like the sound of basketball which makes me one happy papa!
She's a pretty heavy sleeper once she's out but it tends to take awhile to get her down so we're a little sleep deprived and I'm very thankful for K being home to take the night shift so I'm not a walking zombie at work. I take the early morning shift before work and it's our special Maddy and Daddy time which I really enjoy.
Before I get to the pictures, thank you to everybody who has donated for the race and as a reminder, if you are still interested in making a contribution, go to http://www.youcaring.com/nonprofits/racing-for-madeline/52676! We're at $980 with 8 days to go before race day and I couldn't be more pleased on how well the fundraiser has gone.
And now for the good stuff:
What a joy to read and see how Maddy is growing. Thanks :- )
